Order Your Firewood Early

LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -As the cold weather arrives more people will be lighting up their fire places. If this is your first winter using firewood for heat, you are probably realizing that you should order your firewood early.

Harper Tree Service in Lee County says they’ve received some last minute callers wanting firewood for this week. They say most of their firewood is already sold to their regular customers. For those who want firewood now, they will have to be placed on a waiting list.

“We’re trying to get all of our wood racks filled up on all of our convenience stores all over town. We have about 300 regular customers a year that they all order firewood early in the season to get their firewood. When you’re in the middle like this and it’s fixing to be cold like Tuesday and its going to be 15 degrees, you can’t get your wood right then. You have to call in advance,” said Lee Harper.

Harper’s also services 63 local convenience stores of red oak firewood and they’re also sold out. Harper’s Tree Services says they try to keep all their customers happy.
