What I love:

This may be super millennial of me, but I love old things. Old cars, old pianos, old serving ware, old home furnishings… all of it. Maybe it’s because I’m a transplant here in Canada, meaning that I do not have access to heirloom objects anymore. I left that all behind when I moved out of my parents house.

My old fabulous piano

Or maybe it’s because nowadays all our stuff is made with planned obsolescence. Things are not made to last. This is infuriating because it perpetuates the consumer capitalistic cycle. Additionally there is hardly any more character in mass-produced things; from clothes to home décor cheap plastic stuff is a dime a dozen.

But not here, here I’ll share my love of old things. Or taking old things and making them new again. Sustainable living- balking at the ever-present capitalist economy we all find ourselves in.
